Student demonstrates understanding ecosystems and life cycles by experimenting with plant growth under different conditions, including light and no light.
Student demonstrates understanding of ecosystems and life cycles by investigating, describing, and acting out or constructing simple diagrams, pictures or words that show a variety of plant and animal life cycles.

Student demonstrates understanding of earth materials by observing, describing and comparing color and texture of different types of rocks and soils.
Student demonstrates understanding of earth materials by conducting tests on the properties of soils.
Student demonstrates understanding of the cyclical changes that happen throughout the seasons by observing and recording weather data through the seasons and identifying and drawing conclusions based on the patterns in the data collected.
