**The Number System**

1b. Properties of exponents

1. Extends the properties of exponents to rational exponents (N-RN.1;N-RN.2)

2. Knows and applies the properties of integer exponents to generate equivalent numerical expressions (8.EE.1)

1c. Chooses and interprets units

** **2a. Simplifying by combining terms
