6:40-7:00 -  Overview- What is in the cannabis plant, How tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) impacts the brain, Methods ofuse, various types of the drug, differences of illegal marijuana and medical marijuana and a brief discussion on current proposed laws in Vermont.

7:00-7:20  - Small group discussion/scenarios: parents & teens

Debby Haskins is a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor with 30 years of experience in the substance prevention & treatment world.  She is a trainer for Center for Health & Learning on Suicide Prevention, Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs and Injury, and Violence Prevention.  Debby worked in two area schools as a Student Assistance Professional (S.A.P.) and was the Executive Director of the Association of Student Assistance Professionals of Vermont overseeing the 92 S.A. P. programs in Vermont’s middle & high schools.  Along with her continued teachings she has a private practice in Waterbury.
